Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique practiced in savasana. This practice is deeply restful as we systematically relax and withdraw the senses from the body, while maintaining a calm and alert state of mind. Throughout the different stages of this guided meditation we discover more access to the subtle body, subconscious and unconscious mind.
Yoga nidra promotes deep relaxation⎯⎯alleviating physical tension, as well as emotional, mental and energetic stress. It also reliably reveals and awakens your inner reservoir of intuitive understanding and unconditional joy. It can be practiced by itself to restore an overworked body and mind, or as a precursor to lucid dreaming or astral projection. How deep do you want to go?
In this workshop, we will use asana, pranayama, kriya, restorative postures, visualization and yoga nidra.
This practice will begin with a slow vinyasa flow to open up the body, release stress and prepare us to delve deep into the meditative and healing aspects of yoga. Through integrated breath & movement, we follow a slower, more mellow pace where postures are held for a moderate length of time to create awareness in the mind and body. We transition from the asana practice with restorative postures and prepare for a 30-40 minutes of yoga nidra.
